How can we better prepare teachers to confront the reality of race in the classroom?
My name is Scott Farver.
I am a doctoral candidate at Michigan State University in Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education. Originally from Michigan, I served in the US Peace Corps as an education volunteer with my wife in the Philippines and was an elementary teacher in New Mexico near the Navajo Nation.
My research involves working with pre-service and practicing teachers to make classrooms and schools more equitable. Specifically, I examine issues of race and multiculturalism through critical lenses. My dissertation chair is Dr. Alyssa Hadley Dunn.

RT @debreese: 1) More and more I am seeing people in the US talk about doing a Land Acknowledgement at their meeting, conference, or event.
